Naveen Honors Talent

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has a problem. He never fails to recognise the talent and honor them for their contributions.

Today Mr.Patnaik appreciated the commitment and tireless efforts made by officials of Department of Works (DoW) and Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO) in making Kalinga Stadium, a World Class One.
Within a short span period, both DoW and IDCO have come up to the expectation of the Chief Minister, who wanted to make it one of the best venues for hockey in the world.
So Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik honored Nalini Kanta Pradhan, Secretary Works and his Team for implementing the project in hardly one and half months, which itself is a record sort.
Mr.Pradhan has got talent, efficiency and knack for completing the job in a time bound manner.

That is why Chief Secretary A P Padhi once said it is because of Mr.Pradhan the critical infrastructure of Kalinga Stadium could be completed before the time line.
Works Team took up façade around four Hockey Stands, Roads work around the Hockey Stands, Construction of Gates 3 and 4, widening the roads, Player Changing Rooms.
The Stadium capacity has also been increased from 7500 to 15000 adding two new galleries in the North and South ends of the Stadium for the spectators.
Inaugurating the Renovated and Upgraded Hockey Complex, Chief Minister said, “This is a momentous occasion for all of us in Odisha and we are proud to give India a world-class sporting complex in the form of Kalinga Stadium.”
“We are excited and all set to host the Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018 next month at the Kalinga Stadium. I am confident that it will be one of the many international levels sporting events that will be held in the state”, said he.
Mr.Patnaik also honored CMD IDCO Sanjay Kumar Singh and the Team for their tireless efforts to complete the critical project in time.
IDCO took up construction of North and South Stand, Extension and Renovation of East and West Stand, Renovation of Flood Lighting System, Renovation of Sprinkler System and Water filtration Plant.
Mohd. Mushtaque Ahmad, President, Hockey India said one can see the commitment and tireless effort that has gone into making the iconic Kalinga Stadium truly one of the best venues for hockey in the world.
With increased capacity and comfortable seating arrangement for spectators as well as an upgraded flood light system among many other key features that have been given a face-lift, one can expect the Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup, Bhubaneswar 2018 to be an extravagant event.
He said that hockey fans from across the Globe will carry with them great memories from here.
