Cash Reward For Jayanti

 Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for Odia athlete Jayanti Behera.

Ms.Behera won the bronze medal in the women’s 200-metre sprint event at Asian Para Games at Jakarta in Indonesia.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister congratulated Jayanti and said that Odisha was proud of her achievement.
“Congratulate Jayanti Behera for winning bronze medal in 200 metre sprint at the @asianpg2018 held in Jakarta, Indonesia. #Odisha is proud of your achievement. Happy to announce Rs 10 lakh prize for her,” Chief Minister said.
Jayanti finished with a timing of 27.45 seconds. China’s Li Lu came first clocking 25.82 seconds and Wang Yanping, also of China, second with 26.45 seconds.
Jayanti, whose left hand and waist were burnt in a fire mishap when she was just one-year-old, had won the silver medal in 100-meter race at Asian Youth Para Games-2017 in Dubai.
A native of Sakhigopal in Puri district, she had earlier clinched gold in 400-metre race at the World Junior Para Athletic Championships held in Nottwil, Switzerland, in August 2017 and also at the China Open Para Athletics Grand Prix.
India has four gold, six silver and 10 bronze medals to its name at the ongoing Para Asian Games.
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also congratulating Jayanti for her achievement.
“Heartiest Congratulations to Para Athlete Jayanti Behera for clinching Bronze Medal at @asianpg2018 in 200m Sprint Event. She has made India & Odisha proud with her determination. Her performance is an inspiration for all,” Mr.Pradhan tweeted.
