Hockey Fever Grips Country

With just 73 days to go, one of the most skillful and entertaining sports of India the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018 Bhubaneswar is gripping the country with excitement.

 
The Odisha Government is leaving no stone unturned in propelling the sports publicity campaigns that will push awareness about the upcoming World Cup and endorse the State’s tourism as a part of its 360-degree promotional campaign.
 
The convoy will be out and about on the road, making 17 stops in all corners of the country including six metropolitan cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
 
This campaign is a first-of-its-kind push for sports tourism which will showcase Odisha as a sporting hub as well as a tourist destination. The Government will be underlining Odisha’s unique and compelling experiences and attractions which makes it an ideal destination for local and foreign tourists.
 
Speaking about the Road Show, Vishal Dev, Secretary Sports Youth Services and Tourism said that “Hockey has catalyzed the growth and popularity of the sport within our country. It has not only broadened its fan base and believers but has also established itself as a highly competitive sport.”
 
“Through this road-show, we look forward to extending the sports brand and welcoming the teams, fans, and tourists in Odisha. We want to give people a taste of Odisha’s authenticity when they come down for the mega sporting event in November”, said he.
 
 The Campaign is expected to start from 27 September 2018.
 
The Odisha Government recently participated in a two day PATA Travel Mart that took place in Lankavi Malaysia from the 12-14 September 2018.
 
This event is internationally acclaimed for promoting travel and tourism to, from and within the Asia Pacific region. Odisha Government participated in this event to promote their State's Tourism and the upcoming Odhisa Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018.
