OCL Bags CSR Award


Reiterating its commitment as a responsible corporate citizen, OCL India Ltd, 
the flagship company of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited has added another feather to its cap by receiving the CSR Community Initiatives Award for Best CSR practices by a Corporate.


The jubilant CSR Team led by Niladri Parhi, Head CSR, OCL India Limited and   Vishal Bhardwaj, Head – Dalmia Bharat Foundation, was awarded by Minister Finance, Shashi  
Bhusan Behera at a function organized  by Odisha CSR Forum here recently.

Expressing his commitment towards, CSR and local communities, Sunil Gupta, Executive Director – Manufacturing (East), DCBL, said, “
OCL India has remained committed over the years for developing Rajgangpur and many other regions in Odisha.”
 
OCL India continues to impart responsible business practices through community development. It has not only championed in shaping the infrastructural and GDP growth of Odisha since 1950, it has also built the foundation for the growth of community in and around the manufacturing units”, said Mr.Gupta.
 
OCL India has remained committed over the years for developing Rajgangpur and many other regions in Odisha, said he.
 
It has created direct and indirect job opportunities in the past for the local communities.

The company enhances the employability of local youth of Rajgangpur and also makes the women from the region economically independent by augmenting their skills through various training programmes, Mr.Gupta said.
 
OCL India has also taken up a mission to render Sundargarh a blind free district. In partnership with LVPEI in 3 years OCL Eye Centre has served 50, 481 outpatients out of which 16, 543 have been served free of cost.
 
Speaking about the CSR initiatives in the mining district, Saroj Kumar Raut, Head - Mines, OCL India Ltd. said, “OCL has always been supporting the local community at large and we remain committed to their larger benefit.
