The Odisha Government has approved proposal for implementation of the Odisha Disaster Recovery Project (ODRP) in two Phailin hit blocks of Puri district.

A meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) constituted under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 was held under the Chairmanship of Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on 16 April at the State Secretariat here.

The Committee in principle approved proposal for implementation of the ODRP in two Phailin hit blocks of Puri.

Subject to further scrutiny, nearly 4832 families in Krushna Prasad and Brahmagiri blocks of the district identified by the district administration will be benefited under the project.

ODRP is previously under implementation in two other districts - Ganjam and Khordha. These 3 districts were badly affected by severe cyclonic storm Phailin in 2013.
