Cardiac Hospital On Track


The establishment of cardiac care hospital at Jharsuguda was fast tracked on Friday with Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das and Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy reviewing progress of the work.

Additional Chief Secretary Health & Family Welfare  PK Mohapatra, along with senior officers from concerned departments, Care Hospital participated in the discussions.

Jharsuguda Collector Saroj Samal along with Executive Engineer R & B and other senior officers appraised the ground level situation over video conferencing

Reviewing ground level implementation of the project, Mr.Das directed to add on construction of residential quarters for doctors and paramedics in the hospital premise itself.

Collector and Executive Engineer Jharsuguda were directed to prepare separate estimate for the quarters.

The Chief Secretary emphasized on quality service, day to day operation, management and upkeep of the hospital. He directed the PPP cell functioning under Finance Department to work out definite procedures for these requirements as per the conditions of PPP agreement.

Mr.Tripathy also directed to put in place definite institutional frame for operation and management before completion of the construction.

Special Secretary and Director, National Health Mission Shalini Pandit informed that the hospital is being setup on PPP mode and MCL is providing the financial support for construction and equipment purposes.
 
The required land of 5.05 acres has been provided by district administration, she said adding, Care Hospital has been selected as the PPP partner through an appropriate bidding process for operation and management of the hospital.

It will be a 100 bed specialized cardiac care hospital in which around 50% of the beds will be available for the patients having Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana ( BKKY ) cards.

The review showed that at present the construction work has been expedited and the Odisha State Medical Corporation has also started the process for procurement of the equipment.

The hospital will have facilities like radiation oncology, linear accelerator, branchytherapy, nuclear medicine, PET CT, MRI, CT Scan, mammography, X-Ray, CR System, ultrasound, TMT, echo, automated laboratory and blood bank.

The suggestions for dedicated electricity and water supply for the hospital was also discussed in the meeting, said officials and added that a target was fixed to complete designed construction and equipment installation by March, 2021.
