With Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic, Union Government has decided to allow Online Training for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officers instead of their physical presence in the National Academy at Mussoorie.

Accordingly, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) has chalked out Programs for the IAS Officers.

To begin with Phase II Training for 2018 Batch IAS Officers will be conducted Online, sources said.

So these young IAS Officers will be allowed to opt for Online Training from their homes also, said a senior official.

2018 Batch IAS Officers will undergo Phase II Training from 6 July, 2020, which will be done Online, informed a senior official in LBSNAA.

LBSNAA is the Premier Training Institution of the Country to provide detailed training to IAS Officers and now for the first time it will provide Online Training to the Mandarins.

While LBSNAA has prepared contents for the Online Training, Officers can do the training from the District or the State Training Institute or from their home, officials say.

In Odisha a Full-fledged Training Institute, Gopabandhu Academy of Administration (GAA) is functioning headed by an ACS Rank IAS, who is well versed with the training requirement of the Bureaucrats.

Phase II Training of IAS is a Full Time Profession Course, which requires complete attention to the Courses by the Officer Trainees, officials say.

LBSNAA has chalked out detailed Online Programs, which will be addressed by Faculty Members, Experts, Guest Speakers, and Extracurricular Activities are also planned.

There is tight schedules beginning with 6.30 AM till 4 PM on the week days and there will no Online Sessions on Saturdays and Sundays.

Every Day from Moring 6.30 AM Yoga, Physical Exercises will be taught on Online, said sources.

There will be also sessions on Group Activities, Consultation by Experts, and other issues, Viva Voce will be conducted and assignments will be given, which will be completed within stipulated time period.

There will be proper evaluation and progress will be monitored by the LBSNAA Course Team, said sources.

While 2018 Batch IAS Officers are assigned Districts, they will be allowed to opt for Online Training from their homes and if they opt to go for Training from the State Training Institution, they will be relieved from their current responsibilities and they can focus on training, which is crucial for their future, officials say.

Now these officers have been given freedom to opt from either home or the Training Institute, sources say.

However, this will be new experience for the Young IAS Officers, who were hoping to return back LBSNAA for their Phase II Traing.
