"Ghare Ghare Arunima" Part II-- a calendar- based fun filled list of activities for children to be implemented in support of parents and grandparents released on Tuesday.

Women & Child Development & Mission Shakti Department, in coordination with UNICEF released the second version of the theme of the second version is ‘Air, Water & Soil’.

The theme last month was ‘Insects & Reptiles’ which had generated huge response.

This will help sustain early learning and ensure school readiness of 16,13,775 Anganwadi children(3-6 years) across 72,587 AWCs of the state.

Anu Garg, Principal Secretary WCD & MS Department released the issue through a video conference with the DSWOs and CDPOs.

Arvind Agarwal, Director Social Welfare and ICDS and other senior officials were present.

‘Tiki Mausi’, the protagonist of the Department, will reinforce the activities this time, said officials.

UNICEF Chief of Field Office here Monika Nielsen said, “`Ghare Ghare Arunima`-Version  Two” calendar is a great way to create curiosity in children on the need for clean environment, conservation of water and role of soil in growing plants. This is also an attempt to  build a friendly environment for every child at homes. “

Notably, the program stresses on reaching out to parents for keeping the children engaged in a host of activities such as action songs, dance, painting, storytelling/ listening etc based on the prescribed theme of the month.

It also focuses on practice of good habits like hand washing, hygiene & sanitation, social distancing etc. to prevent infection. Further, children are to be initiated to household chores such as folding clothes and watering plants etc
