Power Readiness Reviewed

 

 

Minister Energy Dibya Shankar Mishra today reviewed State’s   Preparedness to    provide continuous power supply to urban and rural Odisha during probable cyclonic storm “Amphan”.

 

Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary Energy, CESU Chief Executive Arun Bothra and other senior officials of CESU, WESCO, NESCO and SOUTHCO attended the meet.

 

It has been decided that there will be Division-wise Priority mapping for identification of feeders supplying critical infrastructures like hospitals, water supply points, communication networks, railway stations, district and block headquarters.  

 

Similarly Division-wise action plan will be prepared for mobilization of manpower, materials, tools & tackles and transport.

 

A monitoring cell has been constituted at OPTCL as to make pre assessment of damage & subsequent action plan for restoration of power supply. 

 

Manpower & Material Mobilization clearances to be accorded by the District Administration during Covid-19 lockdown, officials say.

 

50 Emergency Restoration System (ERS) towers have been kept ready by OPTCL for immediate restoration of EHT & HT transmission system.

 

Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has been requested to provide NDRF/ODRAF /Fire services / OFDC team for road clearances & tree cutting.  

 

Advertisement in the local newspaper and TV on safety precaution measures to be taken up by the consumers during the cyclonic storm. 

 

Field Offices were instructed to shut down their power supply once wind speed crosses 50 Kmph, official sources said.
