No Reason To Panic

Odisha Government has urged people not to panic with the spike of COVID-19 Positive cases in the State.

Chief Spokesperson Subrato Bagchi said at a Media Meet that though there has been rise in number of COVID-19 positive cases in last few days, there is no reason to panic as these cases have been mostly detected in the Quarantine Centers.

Notably, all the returnees from different States are being directly taken to Quarantine Centers, where they have to spend mandatory quarantine period as indicated above.

In the meantime, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked to take steps to scale up the testing facility in the State.

“As a superlative performance, more than 1000 samples have been tested on 8 May in SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack,” Mr.Bagchi informed. 

Department of Health & Family Welfare has conducted a webinar for Private Practitioners and ESI Hospitals on COVID-19 management at Telemedicine Centre SCB Medical College in Cuttack.

More than 250 doctors participated in the program, Mr.Bagchi said.

He said as many as 52,723 Odias have returned to State by train/bus and other vehicles.

Nearly 14,308 Temporary Medical Centres/Camps have been readied in 6798 Gram Panchayats of the State with 5,75,215  beds to provide COVID-19 health services in rural areas.

Nearly 3,18,630 destitute and helpless persons were provided food in 4994  Gram Panchayats, Spokesperson informed.

Over 31 cases have been registered by the Police in the state for violation of different regulations and guidelines related to COVID-19 during the past 24 hours and 49 persons arrested for different violations.
