Change In Banking Hours

In the wake of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) Epidemic, the State Government has ordered for an uniform Business Hour for All Bank Branches from 10AM to 02 PM for providing Customer Service till further orders.

Ashok Kumar Meena, Principal Secretary Finance held discussion with senior officials in Department of Finance and directed the State Level Bankers’ Committee Convener to inform about the decision of the State Government in this regard.

Accordingly, P K Biswal, Director Institutional Finance has brought out a notification on 23 March and said that in no circumstances any branch will be closedown on any working day and before 2PM.

Each Bank should devise a Deployment Plan for their personnel depending on the ground reality abd it should not normally be less than two and more than seven in a branch.

Replenishment of cash in ATMs should be done on regular basis to ensure continuity of the ATM Operations, said Mr.Biswal.

For transportation of cash from one place to another, requisition may be sent to Police authorities to provide Police Protection as and when required, said he.

Cash Deposit, Withdrawals, Remittances like RTGS, NEFT, Clearance of Cheques, Currency Chest Operations, ATMs, Government Tax Collections and banking Services through the Banking Correspondents and Customer Service Providers are needed to be ensured by the banks.

All other services including Aadhar Centers will remain to be temporarily stopped till further direction, said Mr.Biswal.

Customers should be proactively encouraged to use alternate delivery channel like Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, Online Payments, ATM, e-Corners etc by respective banks, advised the Director.

Respective banks are asked to provide 24x7 services through their Call Centers.
