The clapping sounds rang in the Lok Seva Bhawan, Odisha  as the clock struck five.

Following an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show solidarity and express gratitude to doctors, nurses and others involved in providing essential services, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy led the Team of Senior Mandarins in Lok Seva Bhawan  as the country observed an unprecedented 'Janta Curfew' to check the spread of the Novel Coronavirus(COVID-19).
Chief Secretary Mr.Tripathy as a Team Leader was seen clapping along with Secretary To Chief Minister 5T V K Pandian to express gratitude.
Subroto Bagchi, Chief Spokesperson of Odisha Government on COVID-19, Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Special Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Shalini Pandit joined the solidarity show.
During the entire day on 22 March, these senior Mandarins were engaged in coordinating and monitoring the entire operations during 14 Hours long ‘Janata Curfew’.
In the meantime in view of the Lock Down from 22-29 March, the State Government has taking proactive steps in the move to contain the spread of COVID-19 and has identified Sectors as Critical for administrative point of view.
Departments have been identified as ‘Critical’ include Food, Supply and Consumer Welfare, General Administration and Public Grievances, Housing and Urban Development, Health & family Welfare, Home, SRC and OSDMA.
All the officers of these Departments will attend the office during 22 to 29 March, when Lock Down will be in effect.
Departments including Commerce & Transport, Electronics & Information Technology, Energy, Finance, Information & Public Relations, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Revenue, SC & ST Development and Works, have been identified as ‘Partially Critical’.
Secretary of these Departments along with key officials and staff shall attend office.
Other Departments like Agricuture, Cooperation, Excise, Fisheries and ARD, Forest & Environment, Handloom & Textiles, Higher Education, Law, Industries, Labour & ESI, MSME, Culture, Planning & Convergence, Public Enterprises, School & Mass Education, SSEPD, Steel & Mines, Sports & Youth Services, Tourism, Water Resources, Science & Technology have been notified as ‘Non Critical’.
Officials of these Departments will not attend office, however they will be available at short notice and will monitor and supervise over phone the work related to their Departments in the Field, Orders said.
