225 Crore For COVID-19

 
An amount of Rs.225 crore has been sanctioned out of State Disaster Response Fund for containment of COVID-19 in Odisha. 

The State Executive Committee  held a special meeting on 16 March was chaired by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy.

Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Agriculture Production Commissioner Pradipta Kumar Mahapatra, Principal Secretary Finance, Ashok Kumar meena and other sere present.

ACS Disaster Management and SRC Pradeep Jena gave out details on the rewuirement by the Departmnent of Health & Family Welfare.

SEC has sanctioned the amount in favour of the Health Family Welfare Department.

The fund will be utilized for measures for quarantine, sample collection, screening, including provision for temporary accommodation, food, medical care, etc. for the people sheltered in quarantine camps, cluster containment operations, setting up of additional testing labs and procurement of essential equipment, personal protective gears, etc.

State Government has announced COVID-19 as a State Disaster and in the appointed Special Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Shalini Pandit as Additional Special Relief Commissioner to handle the emerging disaster.
