Bus Port For Cuttack

With a move to de-congest Millennium City and provide better service for the Citizens, State Government has decided to establish an Ultra Modern Bus Port near Khan Nagar.

In order to survey the area and to take on the spot decision, Secretary to Chief Minister 5T Charter, VK Pandian along with the Team of Officers visited the area in the wee hours of 10 March.

Mr.Pandian was happy to take stock of matter as the State Government will soon take up the job on a priority basis.

Secretary Works, Krishan Kumar presented the model for development and structures to come up in the area.

Dr.Kumar along with Team Works earlier made survey and assessed the requirement, said sources.

CMD OSRTC Arun Bothra, RDC Central Division Anil Samal and others were present.

OSRTC will be developing the Cuttack Bus Stand to next level as Badambadi Bus Stand is unable to cater to the growing requirement of the Public.

It has not only very congested but also during peak hours, it is posing serious problem for movement of vehicles and passengers.

While plans are afoot to improve the Millennium City in a big way with World Class Medical College and Hospital in SCB, setting up of Ring Road and other facilities, establishing Ultra Modern Cuttack Bust Stand is on cards.

Earlier there was a Plan for Inter State Bus Port at Gopalpur and accordingly State Government agreed to provide land.

Somehow it has not taken off and now move is on to set up a new Bus Port near Khan Nagar, while acquiring some more areas for the facility for larger interest of people.
