Naveen Presents Home Cards

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the distribution of Entitlement Cards to 20 lakh beneficiaries who will be provided with pucca houses under schemes of rural housing in a phased manner based on their eligibility and priority criteria by 2022.

“These people lived in kutcha houses and were vulnerable to disaster and insecurity,” Mr.Patnaik said while launching EC for the people of the State at a function here on Panchayati Raj Day—observed on the birth anniversary of legendary Biju Patnaik every year by the Department of Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water.

Mr.Pattnaik said, "A safe roof over the head of each rural family of Odisha was Biju Babu's dream; ensuring a pucca house to every rural family that lives in kuchha house is State government's top most priority."

Under the 5T approach of the State Government, the Chief Minister also launched the online case record management and improved features of Ama Ghar mobile Application developed by the Department.

While the online case record management empowers the beneficiaries in terms of accessing updates about their individual cases of allotment of rural housing, the improved features of Ama Ghar application helps in geo referenced photograph uploading and expediting installment processing.

Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy highlighted the vision of state in decentralisation of power, the steps taken by the state so far and the future plan of action to strengthen the role of the Panchayati Raj Institutions.

Principal Secretary PR & DW Deoranjan Kumar Singh said that the department is consistently endeavouring to improve lives by fulfilling the basic fundamental needs of rural families.

There is constant effort to improve the quality of services by the new initiatives namely 'Mo Sarkar" and '5T' of State Government, he said.

Notably, in order to strengthen and expand the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions in ensuring convergence, four agreements for asset transfer was also signed by the PR & DW Department with the School and Mass Education Department, the Health &Family Welfare Department, the Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti Department and the Fisheries and Animal Resources Department.

A Coffee Table Book called "Mo Ghar: Rural Housing Rebuilding Lives", a compilation of 21 untold stories of the most deserving beneficiaries was also released on the occasion.
