Panda; New Secretary Banking

With Six Secretaries in Union Government appointed today, Top Mandarin Debasish Panda, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Financial Services,(Secretary Banking) Ministry of Finance.

He replaced 1984 Batch IAS Rajiv Kumar, who is superannuating on 29 February 2020.
Mr.Panda is serving as Special Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance

One of the brightest Odia IAS Officers, Mr.Panda is the first Odia to hold such post and both State and Central Bureaucracy is happy with his new assignment.

1987 Batch IAS of Uttar Pradesh Cadre, belongs to a highly respectable family in Odisha has brought cheers among the senior officers of the Indian Banking Circle for his new assignment.
1985 Batch IAS® SN Tripathy, who has taken over as Director IIPA was very happy with appointment of Mr.Panda as Secretary Financial Services.

1991 Batch IAS Satyabrata Sahu was happy with Mr.Panda’s new assignment and said he has been always a Pro-Poor Mandarin and helping Odisha all along.

Being Central Prabhari Officer in Aspirational Districts Program, Mr.Sahu said that Mr.Panda has been very helpful for these backward districts.
1993 Batch IAS Ashok Kumar Meena, who is Principal Secretary Finance was lauding the proactive efforts of Mr.Panda for scaling up Banking Sector in the State.

BN Mishra, GM Punjab National Bank has expressed his happiness over the new assignment of Mr.Panda. He said the Banking Sector will be benefited.
Laxmikanta Mishra, AGM Punjab National Bank said “Odisha will reap rich dividends with his posting as Secretary Financial Services”.
 In fact Mr.Panda has religiously attended all the SLBC Meet held in Bhubaneswar and sorted out issues of the State.
 He has been proactively pursuing establishment of brick and mortar bank branches in the far flung areas and backward districts.

Saraswati Prasad, IAS (AM:85), Special Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Steel as Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes in the rank and pay of Secretary.
Usha Sharma, IAS (RJ:85), Director General, Archaeological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture as Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
