Forces To Unleash Joint Operations


Combined Power of State Police and Central Forces will be unleashed in the Left Wing Extremist (LWE) affected areas to restore normalcy and to bring sense of security among the people.

Joint Operations against the Maoist will be organized as SOG, CRPF and BSF Forces will join hands to eliminate Red Rebels in these areas.

DGP Odisha, BK Sharma, who visited the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput and Kalahandi of the South Western Range(SWR) , Odisha has decided to scale up Anti-Maoist Operations in Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi and Nuapda.

He was accompanied by RP Koche, ADGP, Law & Order, RK Sharma, Additional Director, Intelligence, Amitabh Thakur, IGP, Operations.

Mr.Sharma was joined by Harminder Pal, IG BSF, Odisha, SK Mohanty, IG CRPF, Odisha, Shefeen  Ahamed K, DIG SWR, Koraput.

DGP reviewed the work done by the District Police and Central Armed Police Forces(CAPF)  in combating the Left Wing Extremism in the 6 Districts of the South Western Range.

SPS Sandhu, DIG BSF Malkangiri, PK Mishra, DIG BSF Koraput, SR Pandey, DIG CRPF Rayagada,  Ram Charitra, DIG CRPF BBSR were present.
Rishikesh Khilari, SP Malkangiri, Mukesh Bhamoo, SP Koraput, Saravana Vivek, SP Rayagada, Nitin Kusalkar, SP Nabaranpgur, Vinit Agarwal, SP Nuapada, B Gangadhar, IPS, SP Kalahandi and Commandants of CAPFs attended the meetings.

DGP reviewed the Maoist activities in these six districts and the steps taken by security forces in combating the subversive activities.

He emphasized upon the need to restore normalcy in these districts and also stressed upon to create sense of security in the minds of people.

Mr.Sharma asked the District Police and CAPF to work in close coordination and unity to address the insurgency.
DGP urged the forces to ensure that the security atmosphere should be strengthened so that the developmental activities can take place smoothly in these Maoist affected region.
 
Mr.Sharma lauded the combined efforts of the forces in improving the security of the region, asked them to consolidate upon the progress made and to make further improvement so as to achieve more advancement in the coming days.

DGP also took their feedback regarding the needs and requirements of the forces and assured to address each one of them on priority basis.

Detailed talks on improving infrastructure facilities in these LWE affected zones were held with the IGs of CAPF.

These Top Cops also shared their views, while DGP stressed on Joint Operations against the Maoists to be taken up on priority basis.

While Border zones are to be covered more with forces, there will be more force deployment in the Cut off Areas of the State, said sources.
