Odisha Asks IISc Support

 In order to improve Governance and provide better service to the people, Odisha Government will rope in the support of Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore.


This will be totally new initiative as the State Government is harping on 5T initiative, roping in support of transforming ‘Government Delivery System’ will boost its efforts in this regard, officials feel.

IISc is the premier Institution of the Country for research, innovation, and development for which it has a huge dedicated team.

IISc will set up RISE Centre and will extend support for e-Governance, Smart City Agriculture, Health Care, Disaster Management, as well as Works and Housing,
 
Recently Team IISc held discussion with senior officials of the State Government for setting up a RISE Centre at Bhubaneswar.
 
Centre for Modernizing Government Initiative (CMGI), which is spearheading Good Governance in the State will join hands with IISc for setting up RISE Centre.

CMGI and IISc will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard, said a senior official in the State Government.
Md.Sadiq Alam, Executive Director CMGI is coordinating the initiative with IISc, said sources.
 
RISE Centre will provide inputs for transformation of Government Service Delivery by its various stake holders, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI),
 
Machine Learning, Autonomous System, Sustainability and Clean Energy. And the Capacity Improvement will be done through RISE Centre.

This will be done in the first phase and later more technological interventions will be in place with RISE Innovation Centre in place.

With this pact, Odisha Government will receive Research Knowledge, Technology Solutions, and Scientific Support to improve Governance, bringing in innovation in working.

IISc will help CMGI in setting up the State RISE Centre at Bhubaneswar and this initiative will help the state Government, which is harping on better governance through 5 T Initiative and Mo Sarkar Program, officials admit.

IISc will extend its support to the State Government in building solutions for development governance through RISE Innovation Centre, said the officer.
RISE Centre will also develop new areas of applications and help in improving Start Up Initiative.

Development of MSME Ecosystem is also on the cards of IISc and this will spur employment generation, for which State Government is harping on aggressively.
