Politics Turn Dirty

What is called dirty politics?

Indications available from Patkura assembly segment smell cooking of dirty politics. Polling in Patkura is scheduled to take place on July 20.
The ruling BJD and opposition BJP and Congress have already started indulging in low grade politics before beginning of the campaign.
The BJP has already started saying that the opposition BJD leaders are campaigning for the saffron party candidate Bijay Mohapatra.
Mr.Mohapatra himself on 8 July had claimed that 90 per cent of the BJD’s rank and file is not satisfied over the candidature of former minister Bed Prakash Agarwal’s widow Sabitri.
It appears that Mr.Mohapatra hopes to win the elections with strength of resentment in the ruling BJD.
BJP leader Bhrugu Buxipatra has elaborately said that BJD leaders are visiting Patkura to appease party President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, but campaigning for Mr.Mohapatra.
BJD Kendrapara District President Kishore Tarai has rejected it and claimed otherwise. He said the BJP leaders are campaigning for Ms.Agarwal.
However, Naveen Patnaik has meanwhile reviewed the situation at Patkura  even though the BJD seems to be in a comfortable position.
Naveen will go for campaigning in Patkura and directed the party leaders in charge of the constituency to ensure a margin of victory of more than 30,000 votes.

BJD MP from Kendrapara Anubhav Mohanty had secured a slender lead of only over 6,000 votes against his BJP rival Baijayant Panda in Patkura segment in the recently held General Elections.
Mr.Tarai said there is a BJD wave in Patkura and the party candidate will win with a margin of 30,000 to 40,000 votes.
Naveen has deployed at least seven ministers and about two dozen of MLAs to campaign for the party candidate in 51 gram panchayats of Patkura assembly segment.
Former Union Minister and Congress leader Srikant Jena asked both the BJD and BJP to stop cheating people of Patkura and declare a joint candidate for the Assembly poll as the two political parties are no longer rivals
