Nod For Golf Resorts

Vishal Kumar Dev, Secretary Tourism and Sports said that the State Government in another major step for exploring tourism potential of Odisha and brining socio-economic benefit to the community, has allotted land to seven projects in diverse sectors.

Mr.Dev said, "The land has been allotted for seven projects in different parts of the State after due diligence and technical assessment for land requirement".
These projects will bring in an investment of Rs.354.34 Crore. The projects will be developed over a total area of around 79.5 acres out of which Government has decided to allot around 42.5 acres, he said.
Some project proponents have arranged balance land on their own privately, Mr.Dev said adding, "These tourism projects, apart from creating direct employment opportunities also have potential for large indirect employment".
One of the major investment is Golf Resorts at Satapada in Puri by Hospitality Major- Mayfair Group coming up with an investment of Rs.125 Crore.
The land for the projects was sanctioned in the land allotment committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi in State Secretariat here.
 Development Commissioner Asit Kumar Tripathy, Principal Secretary Revenue & Disaster Management Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Secretary Skill Development & Technical Education and CMD IDCO Sanjay Kumar Singh, Special Secretary General Administration & Public Grievance SN Girish, Director Tourism Bibhuti Pattnaik along with senior officers from respective departments participated in the discussions
While approving the proposals, Mr.Padhi directed to fix commencement and commissioning  timeline against each projects and asked the allottees to commission the projects within three years from the date of taking over possession of the land.
The approved projects include Golf  Resort at Satpada, Puri to be developed by Mayfair Hotels & Resorts Ltd with investment of Rs.125 Crore. 
Gopalpur Palm Resort at Udayapur, Ganjam to be developed  by Swosti Vacations Club, with investment of Rs.64.58 Crore.
A 4-Star Hotel at Trisulaia, Cuttack to be developed by Lalchand Resorts with investment of Rs.54.50 Crore, said an official.
A Resort at Gopalpur to be developed by Luxurio Assets with investment of Rs. 49.80 Crore.
Another Resort at Tampara, Ganjam to be developed by Lifeline Multi Venture with investment of Rs. 49.80 Crore.
Water Park at Basantpur near Sambalpur to be developed by Aquamagic Water Amusement Park with investment of Rs.7.50 Crore.
And Theme Park & Resort near Rourkela to be developed by Krishna Holdings with investment of Rs.3.16 Crore.
