Talks On Ayushman

Minister Health & Family Welfare, Naba Kishore Das held discussions with the Ayushman Bharat Team regarding the issues pertaining to the Flagship Health Care Program of the Union Government.

Mr.Das along with Secretary Health & Family Welfare Pramod Kumar Meherda talked to Indusbhusan, Chief Executive Officer of Ayushman Bharat, who came along with the Team.

Minister Mr.Das said the State Government is implementing Flagship Health Care Program, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), which is a landmark scheme in the country itself.

After the meeting, Minister, Mr.Das said it is primary level talks and lot of issues are there, which needs more rounds of talk.
Earlier, the Team led by Dr.Indubhusan held talks with Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
Dr.Indubhusan and the Team held preliminary rounds talks with Mr.Padhi, sources added.
Others in the team include Manu Sukla, Aditi Bhargava, Astha Arora and Rohit Deo Jha.
BSKY envisages health benefit to the 70 Lakh poor families up to Rs. 5 lakh, which is double the amount in the case of women beneficiaries.
Prior to the 2019 polls, the NDA Government had approached the State Government to implement Ayushman Bharat scheme in Odisha, which was rejected by the State Government.

The State scheme covers 70 lakh families in its ambit. Besides, the Government has signed agreements with 218 high-profile hospitals inside the State and outside too for any emergency treatment of patients.
Having failed in its attempt to persuade the previous BJD Government to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Odisha during the end part of its first regime, the NDA Government-2.0.  under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi has started its second attempt hoping for a successful negotiation with the State Government.
More rounds of talks are needed as the State Government has presented several issues, which needs clarifications from the Union Government and after that more rounds of talks will take place, said a senior officer.
