BJP Heaps Betrayal Slur

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) heaped ‘Betrayal’ slur on BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik a day after Chief he aanounced to vacate Bijepur Assembly Seat.

Opposition BJP hit out at Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik accusing him of
having betrayed the people of Western Odisha.

Saffron Veteran, Jayanarayan Mishra blasted Mr.Patnaik for his move to retain Hinjili and vacate Bijepur Assembly Seat. "It is difficult to understand why Naveen Patnaik chose to contest from Bijepur and decided to vacate the seat now. The Chief Minister's decision to vacate Bijepur is nothing but an to Western Odisha,” Mr.Mishra, senior Lawmaker  from Sambalpur, said.

Accusing Mr.Patnaik of cheating the people of Western Odisha for years, Mishra said the special package announced by the Chief Minister before his resignation from Bijepur seat was nothing but a trick to hoodwink the people of the region.

Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik had on 30 May announced a Rs 1,330 crore package, including plans to provide pucca houses to 34,000 households having kutcha houses in the Assembly constituency.

"The so called package is the first move to betray the people of Western Odisha in general and Bijepur in particular by the Government in its fifth term," Saffron Veteran alleged.

Mr.Mishra also pointed out that the Chief Minister had promised various schemes for the residents of Bijepur after the by-elections held for the Assembly seat in 2018.

However, little has been done by the BJD Government to ensure the development of the area which remained neglected and the package announced for Bijepur now is another deceptive move by the Chief Minister, alleged Mr.Mishra

Despite BJD's sinister design, the BJP will put up a strong fight to BJD in the by-election in Bijepur, Mr.Mishra pointed out.

"By resigning from Bijepur Assembly constituency, Naveen Patnaik has simply betrayed the people of western Odisha," BJP National Secretary and newly elected Lok Sabha Member from Bargarh, Suresh Pujari said.

Coming down heavily on the BJD President for his move, Mr.Pujari said the people of entire Western Odisha had gathered high expectations when Mr.Patnaik chose to contest from Bijepur which is located in the region. "Now, the people of the region feel cheated," he said.

Dismissing the allegation leveled by BJP, Minister Health & Family Welfare, Naba Kishore Das said the Chief Minister is not going to ignore the people of Bijepur as he has already stated that development of the region is his responsibility.

Besides announcing the special package for the development of the area, the Chief Minister has promised that he will personally monitor implementation of the projects regularly, Mr.Das said.
