Move For Ayushman

Having failed in its attempt to persuade the previous BJD Government to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Odisha during the end part of its first regime, the NDA Government-2.0.  under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi has started its second attempt hoping for a successful negotiation with the State government.

Sources said a team of the Ayushman Bharat under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer Indubhushan is scheduled to arrive here on 4 June.

Dr.Indubhusan and the team will meet Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and hold discussions in the matter, the sources added.

Others in the team include Manu Sukla, Aditi Bhargava, Astha Arora and Rohit Deo Jha.

Notable, the BJD Government is implementing the Flag Ship Health Care Program-Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana in the State.

BSKY envisages health benefit to the poor up to Rs. 5 lakh, which is double the amount in the case of women beneficiaries.

Prior to the 2019 polls, the NDA Government had approached the State Government to implement Ayushman Bharat scheme in Odisha, which was rejected by the State Government.

The State scheme covers 70 lakh families in its ambit. Besides, the Government has signed agreements with 218 high-profile hospitals inside the State and outside too for any emergency treatment of patients.
