Morcha Thanks Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was thanked by Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP)  State unit Krushak Morcha for the pension scheme announced for farmers, retail shopkeepers and small businessmen and scholarship for children of State police martyrs.

 
Decision on the pension and the scholarship schemes was taken in the first Cabinet meeting of Central government on Friday after Narendra Modi assumed office of the Prime Minister second term.
 
The pension scheme will benefit 14.5 crore farmers. To accommodate the scheme, the budget for the current financial year has been increased to Rs. 87217.50 crore.
 
Farmers in the age group of 18-40 can are eligible for benefit of the pension scheme. After completing 60 years of age, they will get Rs 3,000 per month.
 
In the first phase five crore small and marginal farmers will be included in the scheme.
 
After death of the farmer, the surviving wife or husband will receive 40 per cent of the scheme amount.
 
The pension scheme for shopkeepers and small business men envisages pension of Rs. 3,000 for those whose annual transaction would be below Rs. 1.5 crore. Over three crore businessmen will benefit under the scheme.
 
During Mr.Modi’s first regime, the Government had provided for provision of Rs. 3, 000 for labourers of the unorganised sector.
 
Similarly, sons and daughters of State police martyrs will get Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 3,000 as study scholarship respectively under National Defence Fund.The amounts are enhancements over the previous amounts.
 
A special scheme has also been adopted to give incentive to those who are in animal husbandry business, and for animals suffering from infectious diseases. The budget for the purpose is Rs. 13, 343 Crore for 2019-20.
