Pucca Houses For 5 Lakh

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced provision of pucca houses for those families whose houses were completely or substantially damaged during Extreme Severe Cyclonic Storm- FANI.

This will cost the State Exchequer Rs.7000 Crore as 5.08 Lakh houses have been damaged due to Cyclone-FANI.

State Government has requested Union Government to release Rs.7000 Crore for rebuilding these houses, while presenting a memo to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 6 May during his State visit.

The house damage assessment will begin from May 15 and will be completed within a week, Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik announced here on Sunday.

In all the extremely severely affected blocks, senior officers will be appointed to supervise the assessment process. Work order distribution to the beneficiaries will begin from June 1, Mr.Patnaik said.

“I assure that all out efforts will be put so that not a single eligible person will be left out,” he said.

Notably, the State Government had announced a slew of packages for farmers, horticulturists, fish farmers and handicrafts artisans to the tune of Rs 1600 crore
