CM Plea For Calm


Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday evening appealed to the people of the State not to panic and stay calm.


Mr.Patnaik’s appeal came during his visit to the Special Relief Commissioner’s Office (SRC) at Rajiv Bhavan to review the preparedness.
The Chief Minister asked the  people to remain indoors when the cyclone passes through and assured that all arrangements have been made keeping in view the safety and security of people.
He urged the people of Puri to remain alert during the cyclone.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupad Sethi SRC briefed Mr.Patnaik about the latest position of cyclone.
IAS Officer Monisha Banerjee, Specially Attached to SRC Office and other officials were present.
Notably, ten thousand villages and fifty two Urban Local Bodies are likely to be affected by the cyclone.
Meanwhile, all government offices, barring the disaster management offices,  have ordered to be closed in Puri on Friday when the cyclone will make the landfall.
