Sharma Takes DGP Charge

DGP B K Sharma feels that conducting elections in Maoist Zone is a challenging task and Odisha Police will ensure “Free and Fair” Poll in the State.

 
Mr.Sharma, DG Fire Services and Home Guards, who was given additional charge of DGP Odisha today took charge of DGP assignment and said that he will try to ensure a polling free of fear and bias.
 
With DGP R P Sharma has gone on leave as his wife passed away due to illness, Mr.Sharma has been given Charge of DGP, which is crucial due to ensuing elections being conducted in the State.

Election Commission of India picked up name of Mr.Sharma out of a panel of three names sent by the State Government.

Mr. Sharma’s name was cleared on Sunday and State Government notified it on Monday, following Mr.Sharma joined the DGP Post.

here is four phase polling in the state on 11, 18, 23 and 29 April for 21 Lok Sabha and 147 State Assembly seats.

Mr.Sharma, an effective Top Cop held discussion with senior Police Officials.

ADG Law and Order, Sanjeeb Panda briefed him about the latest scenario on election front.

Later a condolence meeting was organized by the IPS Association of Odisha as Srimati Tusar Mishra passed away due to pneumonia.

Mr.Sharma lauded Srimati Sharma as a loving, caring and well meaning person, who cares others very much.
