Naveen Connects Women

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who seems totally connected with women was given huge reception by women and children at several places on his way to Bhawanipatna.

While Mr.Patnaik returning to Kalahandi District Headquarters, it took long hours as the roads leading to Bhawanipatna was jampacked with women and their children at several places.
It was difficult to move on the Highway as women were lined up on both sides and chanting “Naveen Patnaik Zindabad”.
There was huge rush at Junagarh, where Mr.Patnaik was given huge civic reception and he responded to them asking “If they are happy”.
Audience burst out with “Ame Khushi” (We are happy) and Mr.Patnaik requested them to vote of Biju Janata Dal(BJD) in Conch symbol.
They responded enthusiastically and they waved their hands with lot of happiness, though they were waiting for him to have a glimpse since 3 PM and CM reached at 7.30 PM.
In fact Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today had announced that  his party's government would make provision of Rs 5 lakh loan to Women Self Help Group (WSHG)s at zero per cent interest.
Mr.Patnaik made a series of announcements at an election meeting here in tribal dominated Nuapada district. Patnaik's announcement came ahead of the regional party releasing its manifesto for the ongoing elections for Lok Sabha and State Assembly.
In his bid to capture women votes, Patnaik also promised that the BJD Government would provide works worth Rs 5,000 crore per year to Mission Shakti workers if his party returns to power in the state for fifth consecutive times.
“The Mission Shakti workers will be engaged in midday meal, PDS system, paddy procurement, Ashram school management, hospital management, tourism management and supply of school uniforms which will benefit them about Rs 500 crore per year,” Mr.Patnaik said.
While addressing another election meeting at Komna during his Nuapada and Kalahandi visit on the day, the Chief Minister stressed on empowerment of women.
"Empowerment of women is the true double engine of development," Patnaik said adding that the BJD government would make provision of Rs 25,000 for the marriage of girls belonging to poor family.
Opposition Congress in its manifesto has also announced to free education for girls and financial assistance to needy families for daughters marriage.
The BJD president also announced accident insurance for all members of self-help groups (SHGs).
Mr.Patnaik, who under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana had made provision of Rs 7 lakh for treatment of women, announced to raise the benefit amount to Rs 10 lakh and free education for girls.
Standing in the hunger zone, as Kalahandi and Nuapada are often referred, Mr.Patnaik targeted the BJP led Central Government.
"What happened to Bhawanipatna railway wagon factory and where was double MSP for paddy and water to every agricultural field as promised by BJP," Mr.Patnaik asked adding that while insurance companies got heavy amount, the farmers were denied benefits of crop insurance.
“Four and half crore people of Odisha are my family and I will serve them till my last breath,” Mr.Patnaik said.
