PCCF Focus On Technology

New PCCF and HoFF, Odisha Dr. Sandeep Tripathi has set his vision to provide a progressive, delivery oriented and transparent environment governance, backed with essential policy and administrative reforms.

The Digital Geo Positioning System (DGPS) survey of entire forest of State to effect informed planning, smooth disposal of essential development projects with improving forest productivity and cover to migrate footprint of these projects will be his another major thrust area.

Dr.Tripathi took over charge of PCCF as his senior colleague Dr Debabrata Swain superannuated on Feb 28. Dr Tripathi, an able IFS officer with 35 years of outstanding career span in Provincial and Federal Governments, was working as PCCF (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Odisha.

During his stint at Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education (ICFRE), Dehradun, MoEF & CC as Head, Climate Change, the REDD+ (carbon sequestration) mechanism for climate change mitigation in forestry sector by improving forest was developed; presented, negotiated and accepted in the UN Summit on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Bonn and Nairobi and Bali Summit.

He was a member of Climate Change Subgroup of MoEF, GOI for evaluation of A and R Projects. He also worked as DDG (Research) in ICFRE. He is a member of Asia Flux Net Work, Japan Steering Committee.

As CEO, ORSAC he has been instrumental in development of ‘Odisha State Data Policy-15’for enabling free availability of digital data all across Government Departments for informed policy planning and implementation of various development projects of the Government.

Dr. Tripathi has penned more than 50 Research Publications along with four Books/ Chapters, primarily on climate change and application of RS and GIS in natural resources management.
