Pradhan Joins BJD


Greatly inspired by the clean image of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the plethora of welfare schemes he has introduced for the people state, former Works Secretary Nalinikanta Pradhan today joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

 
He was officially inducted into the party in presence of BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here today.
 
Former Additional Commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation Ramesh Chandra Sai, former Chief Engineer Jaypal Nayak and a prominent BJP leader of Chendipada Assembly segment Suprabha Sahoo were also among others who also joined the ruling party today.
 
Power corridor is abuzz with the speculation that Mr.Pradhan and Mr.Sai would be fielded for Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections respectively.
 
While Pradhan is former Secretaryof Works, Mr.Sai served as Director of the SC & ST
Development Department.
 
Pradhan had resigned from the service on February 28after getting one-year extension.
 
Sources in the BJD said that Mr.Pradhan may contestfrom Sambalpur Lok Sabha seat while Sai could be fielded inAthamalik Assembly segment.
 
Welcoming all of them to the party, Mr.Patnaik said he is happy with induction of all these leaders with many of their followers from Western Odisha, and they will strengthen the party too, he added.
 
“I have joined BJD inspired by the ideology and leadership of Naveen Patnaik with whom I have been working for last 15 years. BJD is the ideal party through which one can serve the people effectively. I will work diligently for the party and try to deliver on any responsibility the party supremo bestows on me,” said Mr.Pradhan to reporters soon after joining BJD.
