938 MBBS Docs Appointed

For the first time, largest number of doctors has been recruited to provide health care for the people of the State.

Chief Minister
Naveen Patnaik has approved appointment of 938 MBBS doctors in order to strengthen health service system in the state.

This is the highest appointment of doctors at one go, a communication received from the Chief Minister's Office said adding that the doctors will be posted in various hospitals across the state.

Even Ganjam, the home district of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has the second highest vacancy. Of 399 sanctioned posts, 183 doctors are in position while 216 are
vacant.

Surprisingly, 38 doctors’ post were lying vacant in Capital Hospital against the sanctioned strength of 175.
