Green Signal For Jindal

In another significant move for creation of employment opportunities through growth of downstream industries, State government today gave go-ahead to the private industrial estate of Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) near Kalinganagar.

This was decided in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the State Secretariat.
IDCO CMD Sanjay Singh presented at the meeting the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the proposed private industrial estate.

Considering the DPR, Chief Secretary Mr.Padhi gave go-ahead to the proposal and directed early grounding of the project.
Mr.Singh told the meeting that the industrial estate would be promoted by Jindal Stainless Ltd as a downstream cluster for manufacture and supply of stainless steel products including construction materials, architectural designs, pipes, industrial goods, lifestyle consumables, kitchen wares etc.
Meanwhile, the Special Purpose Vehicle has already been formed. IDCO has identified around 300 acres of land to be allotted for the estate. Water requirement of 2.54 MLD will be sourced from the intake well of JSL in river Bramhani.

The power requirement is around 40.58 MW which will be met both from the CPP of JSL and the NESCO grid.
The industrial estate envisages an investment of around Rs.1,532 crore with employment potential of around 19,000 persons.

As per preliminary estimates, around Rs.168 crore will be invested for infrastructural development and creation of common facility centres. JSL will be the anchor investor.
The estate will be developed in two phases. Chief Secretary Mr.Padhi asked concerned authorities to complete the first phase work within three years from the date of land allotment.
ACS MSME Laxmi Narayan Gupta, Principal Secretary (Industry) Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary , Skill Development and Technical Education and CDM IDCO Sanjay Singh, Secretary Housing & Urban Development G. Mathivathanan, Additional Secretary Revenue &
Disaster Management Avaya Nayak along with senior officers from concerned departments participated in the discussions.
