RTO Office Visit Passé

State Government has initiated several Citizen Friendly Services in the Transport Sector and several Certificates have been made paper less and slowly making visit to RTO Office passé

In a bid to reduce footfalls at the Regional Transport Officer ‘s Office (RTO), State Government has decided to stop issue of paper based three Certificates with effect from 4 February.

Sanjeeb Panda, Transport Commissioner has issued an order in this regard, saying “ the issue of paper based Learners’ License, Fitness Certificate and Contract Carriage and Goods Carriage Permit shall be stopped in the larger interest of the Public with effect 4 February, 2019.

Mr.Panda in his order has said that Learner’s License, Fitness Certificate and Contract Carriage and Goods Carriage Permit can be downloaded by the applicant at his place of convenience without coming to RTO Office.

This will reduce number of visits by citizen to the RTO Office and the officers will be engaged in other qualitative works, said a senior officer in State Transport Authority (STA).

These documents contain Quick Response (QR) Code, which can be scanned and genuineness can be verified from
https://parivahan.gov.in.

While applying for Driving License, the requirement of attaching Original Learner’s License is hereby dispensed.

The License Authority can verify the details of Learners’ License from web portal.

In order to download the above documents, proper procedures have been lined up for the applicant and RTOs have been asked to make them acquainted with the procedures.

Once RTOs are made aware about the procedures, they can explain to the applicants, whenever required, said the officer of STA.

This will not only reduce foot falls to RTO Offices, but also citizens will be able to receive the facility at their own convenience, said he.
