Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on flagged off Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) Raths to criss cross the State in a bid to create awareness on the scheme on 2 February.


These 150 Raths will travel to all panchayats of the state to create awareness on KALIA Scheme.
Of the total 150 Raths, 20 KALIA Raths were flagged off by the Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik in the first phase.
Krishan Kumar, Secretary Cooperation coordinated the program.
“These Raths will move around all the panchayats of the state and create awareness about the scheme among the farmers,” said the Chief Minister.
These Raths will clarify all the doubts of the farmers regarding the scheme.
Awareness will be created on different aspects of the scheme through LED screens and folk art.
Meanwhile, State Government today made it clear that the banks could not deduct any amount from the funds sent to the farmers’ account.
Principal Secretary, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Saurabh Garg said, “We have already had a meeting with the banks. They have been given strict instructions that banks will never deduct any charges from the farmers for their previous commitments.”
“The KALIA fund will be spent as per the will and wish of the beneficiary farmer and the banks have agreed to cooperate with us,” Dr.Garg pointed out.
