Janajati Conclave Kick Starts

Janajati Morcha Rashtriya Mahaadhibesan that kicked off here on 2 February began consolidating their tribal support with a congregation of around 5,000 representatives from across the country attending the two-day national session.

Inaugurating the Representatives session Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal said the BJP Government at Centre led by Narendra Modi has given priority to the tribal people in giving benefits in all schemes including pucca houses under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana, toilets under the Swachha Bharat Yojana, education, health and communication facilities.

Mr.Sonowal called upon the tribal community to strengthen the hands of Narendra Modi in the upcoming elections.

Dwelling mainly on the schemes implemented by the BJP government at Centre, Morcha National President Ram Bichar Netam, who inaugurated the session, targeted the BJD government for not implementing the schemes and, thereby, depriving the tribal people of their right to livelihood.

BJP National President Amit Shah is scheduled to address the last day of the session, Tribals’ Rights Rally, on Sunday along with Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram.

Nearly one lakh tribals from all over the country are expected to participate in the rally.

BJP State President Basant Panda flayed the State Government stating that although Prime Minister Mr.Modi has introduced ideal schemes to benefit the tribal people, the BJD Government has been glossing over the schemes under their political compulsions.

“For the BJD Government weighs more than the interest of tribals”, Mr.Panda said sarcastically, adding that where as the Union government has sanctioned 92 Ekalabya model public schools for Blocks with over a population of 20, 000, thousands of tribal children are deprived of good education for sheer lack of interest on the part of the State Government.

This National Conclave will chart out agenda for the Party to scale up activities in the Tribal Zones of the Country in a big way before polls, said sources.
