700 CR For Sambalpur


Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday inaugurated projects worth Rs 700 crores in Sambalpur during his day-long visit.

 
The major one was the High Level second bridge over River Mahanadi at the Nelson Mandela Chhak.
The Bridge was  built at an estimated cost of Rs 117.72 crores. According to officials, the 1.5 km long willconnect the district headquarters with Chaunpur, Goshala and Chipilma.
V Karthikeyan Pandian, Special Secretary To CM, Nalini Kanta Pradhan Secretary Works, District Collector Samarth Verma and other officials were accompanying the Chief Minister.
He also made five important announcements on projects worth Rs 88 crores for the city.
Addressing the Youth Conclave of Biju Yuva Vahini (BYV) at VSS Stadium here, the Chief Minister said, “Today I’ve inaugurated projects worth Rs 700 crores. Today I will make five announcements for Sambalpur city.”
He said a second bridge has been dedicated today while one more high level bridge will be built over Malti Jor at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crores.


Similarly, a bridge will be built over Balibandha at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crores and the road from Durgapali to the national highway will be made four-lane at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crores, he said.

“In addition, four-laning of the road from Zilla School to Naksapali will also be done at an estimated cost of Rs 40 crore. The developmental work of this VSS Stadium will also be taken up very soon at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crores,” said Patnaik.


He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a slew of developmental projects in this western Odisha district.
While 19 projects built at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crores were inaugurated, foundation stones were laid for 14 projects and they would be built at an estimated cost of Rs 338 crores.
The Chief Minister during his tour also inaugurated the beautification of Mahanadi river front situated near Maa Samaleswari Temple.
