ICOV 14 In Odisha

With Odisha being appreciated internationally specifically by World Health Organization for the drastic decline of Malaria, organizers have chosen Bhubaneswar to organize International Conference On Vectors and Vector Borne Diseases(ICOV-14).


Indian Council Of Medical Research (ICMR) run Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar and National Academy Of Vector Borne Diseases (NAVBD) have joined hands to organize Fourteenth International Meet here from 9-11 January 2019 here at Swosti Premium Hotel.

National Organizing Committee President Prof. A P Dash, Vice President Dr.Neena Valecha, Local Organizing Committee Chairperson Dr.Sanghamitra Pati and Vice Chairperson Dr.Namita Mahapatra jointly making all out efforts for ICOV 14 to make it a success.

It is expected that around 500 Delegates from inside and outside the country will participate in the International Meet.

Conference has the theme “Vector Borne Diseases: Evolution to Elimination”, which will deliberate on Epidemiology and Disease Burden, Drug Resistance and New Drugs, Modern Biology, Genomics, Proteomics, Genetics, and Immunology.

Similarly Vector Biology and Control, Insecticide Resistance and management and General Topics related to Vector and Vector Borne Diseases will be discussed at length.

This International Conference will deliberate on the backdrop that vector borne diseases have not only adversely affected the health of the people in the region but also impeded overall socio-economic development.

Some of these diseases are fatal if not treated, while others leave patients disfigured and disabled, they accounts for 17 Percent of the global burden of all infectious diseases.

This Conference will cover all aspects, from basic to applied and operational aspects of vector borne diseases.

The Conference will provide platform to students, academics, scientists, professional from pharmaceuticals and industry ; above all, the community to join hands in the fight against the scourge of vector borne diseases.

International Conference will honor outstanding researchers with following six awards like National Academy of Vector Borne Diseases Awards, Vestergaard Frandsen Award for Vector Control, Bayer Environmental Science Award, Shri Vivke Singhal Biotechnology Award, Nand Lal Kalra Award and Dr. Har Gopal Sharma Award.
