Pact For Health Care


 A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Department of Health & Family Welfare (DoHFW) and Novartis Healthcare Private Limited here today aimed at collaboration in supporting activities on awareness and prevention of Diabetes and its associated morbid conditions related to Retina, Renal and Cardiovascular diseases in Odisha.

On behalf of State Government Special Secretary B K Brahma signed the MoU while Novartis was represented by Franchise Head, Respiratory & Head KAM, Mumbai Ravinder Kumar Sagar.
Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Pramod Kumar Meherda was present at the ceremony.
The primary objective of this partnership is to collaborate towards countering the increasing burden of Diabetes and its related conditions related to retina and kidney in the State under NCD program.
The DoHFW with support of Novartis is aiming to achieve this through organizing screening camps at public level in (Location Names).
The DoHFW is looking at it as a step toward Government’s goal of improving facilities for diagnosis and treatment of diseases at District and CHC level.
Officials said the DoHFW also aims at enhancing medical capabilities of its staff by enrolling them in educational programs and as part of their in service continuing education.
This collaboration will entail conducting awareness activities for the public to increase their understanding on the disease.
Officials of DoHFW hopes that the collaboration will lead to better prevention and early diagnostic services through improved healthcare and diagnostic facilities.
Among others Director Health Services Haraprasad Pattanaik, Additional Secretary Hariballav MIshra, Sarat Chandra Mishra and Bibhuti Bhusan Das and other departmental Officers were present.
Joint Director NCD Rashmiranjan Satpathy welcomed the guests and spoke about the arrangements under this MOU.
