Contest Plea For PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be presented a proposal to contest from Puri Lok Sabha seat in the 2019 general elections.

BJP State President Basant Panda said the party will place its proposal for making Mr.Modi the party's candidate from Puri before the BJP Parliamentary Board.
"The Parliamentary Board will take the final decision in this regard," Mr.Panda told Media Men here.
Party's State leadership feel that Mr.Modi's candidature will change the political situation in the state's coastal belt.
Coastal Zone is considered the stronghold of the Governing BJD headed by Naveen Patnaik.
In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, BJP candidate Ashok Sahu finished poor third by securing 20.76 per cent votes against Pinaki Mishra of the BJD who bagged 50.33 per cent votes.
Mr.Mishra won the seat while Congress candidate was in the second place.
Of the seven assembly segments under Puri Lok Sabha constituency, only one seat (Chilika) is with the BJP while BJD candidates won in the remaining six seats -- Balipatna, Pipili, Satyabadi, Puri, Brahmagiri and Ranapur.

BJP Leadership is upbeat due to ABP News-C Voter Survey, which gives a huge mileage to the Saffron Party.
According to the predictions, while the saffron party is likely to win majority of the Lok Sabha seats in Odisha, it will push the ruling BJD to second place.
“BJP is seeking to brighten its prospects in the eastern state where speculations of PM Mr.Modi contesting on a seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections are rife. If that happens, BJP-led NDA is likely to get 13 seats,” the Survey reveals.
The Survey also said that it will be a major setback for BJD, which will win only six Lok Sabha seats out of 21 seats, while others including Congress may get just two if elections are held today.
BJD had won 20 Seats in 2014 Lok Sabha Poll, while BJP got a single out of 21 Seats.
