All Set For Food Security

While the State Government is launching new State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) on 2 October, elaborate arrangements have been made to distribute new Ration Cards free of cost to the eligible beneficiaries.

Vir Vikaram Yadav, Secretary Food Supply and Consumer Welfare has written to the District Collectors in this regard giving out detailed direction for distribution of Ration Cards free of cost to the targeted people.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will launch SFSS from State Capital on 2 October at 4.30 PM through Video Conference at Jaleswar in Balasore, Khunta in Mayurbhanj, Rajgangpur in Sundargarh and Bongamunda in Balangir.

All Peoples’ Representatives, Collectors and other Stakeholders (except the above four districts) will remain present in OSWAN Conference Hall of their respective districts from 4 PM onwards to witness the State Level Function.

After the State ceremony is over the District Level Function will be organized and there will be token distribution of Ration Cards and Letter of Chief Minister to the eligible beneficiaries.

Ministers and Chairpersons have been assigned Districts and these dignitaries will grace the occasion at District Level Ceremonies.

According to list Pratap Jena, Minister Health & Family Welfare will be at Angul , Minister Food Supply and Consumer Welfare at Balangir, Susanta Singh, Minister Energy and Anup Sai at Bargarh, Krutibash Patra, Chairman APICOL at Boudh,
Ananta Das, Minister Higher Education, Balasore and Bhadrakh, Usha Devi Minister Planning & Convergence at Cuttack, Snehangini Churia, Minister Handloom, Textiles at Deogarh.

Pradeep Maharathy, Minister Panchayati Raj and Raghunath Mohanaty Chairman OLIC at Dhenkanal, Usha Devi, Minister Skill Development and Technical Education at Gajapati, snehangini Churia Minister Textiles , Handloom and Handicrafts at Jharsuguda, Ashok Panda, Minister Tourism and Culture at Jajpur, Pratap Jena, Minister Information and Public Relations at Jagatsinghpur, Bikaram Kesari Arukh, Minister Rural Development at Khorda, Shashi Bhusan Behera, Minister , Finance and Sarojini Hembram, MP Rajya Sabha at Keonjhar, Niranjan Pujari, Minister Water Resources and Anubhav Mohanaty MP Rajya Sabha at Kalahandi will grace District Level Ceremony.

Bikaram Kesari Arukha, Minister rural Development and Achyut Samata, MP Rajya Sabha at Phulbani, Chandra Sarathi Behera, Minister , Sports and Youth Affairs and Soumya Ranjan Panaik , MP Rajya Sabha at Koraput, Nrusingha Sahoo, Minister Commerce & Transport at Kendrapara will grace the occasion.

Prafulla Samal, Minister MSME and N Bhaskar rao, MP rajya Sabha at Rayagada, Badri Narayan Patra, Minister School & Mass Education and Pratap kesari Dev, MP Rajya Sabha at Sambalpur, Kishor Kumar Mohanaty, Chairman WODC at Sonepur and Prafulla Mallaick, Minister Works, and Prasant Nanda, MP Rajya Sabha at Sundargarh will grace the ceremonies.

From 3 to 10 October, Block Level functions will be organized to distribute Ration Cards with Chief Minister’s letter to all the eligible beneficiaries as per the Final Verified List of beneficiaries.

On the same day Ration Distribution Book will also be handed over to the eligible beneficiaries.

After receiving the Ration Cards, the new beneficiaries can avail their entitled quota of rice from the Fair Price Shops from 3 October onwards.

The allotment orders have been already issued and Collectors have been asked to impress upon the transport contractors to lift the stock and deliver it to the Fair Price shops.

In case this specific stock fails to reach the Fair Price shops, the available stock of rice will be utilized to give entitlement to the eligible beneficiaries.

Distribution of rice will be through ePOS Machine only and attempt should be made to ensure that maximum transactions are through Aadhaar authentication.
