Mukim Lauds NALCO

Anil G Mukim,Union Secretary,Mines congratulated NALCO collective for its stupendous performance of the company in the first quarter.

Laying the foundation stone of the Alloy Wire Rod unit at an estimated cost of Rs131 crore  to meet the increasing demand of aluminium in the power sector, particularly in power transmission at the existing Smelter Plant at Angul, Mr.Mukim lauded efforts of Navratna CPSE.

NALCO has also become the ‘Pride of India’ and cost focus of the management has made NALCO recognized as the lowest cost producer of alumina in the world.

The Navratna CPSE clocking a PAT of Rs 687crore in the first quarter is indeed impressive he added.

The Union Secretary laid the foundation through video conferencing from the Corporate Office here.

He pointed out that positive environment and harmonized set up could be the attributes for NALCO’s impressive performance.

“I am confident that with your commitment and zeal Nalco’s ambitious expansion program will be a great success and within the set time line”.

Speaking on the occasion Tapan Kumar Chand CMD,NALCO said that the per capita aluminium consumption in In dia is only 2.2 kg against world average of 7 kg and 20 kg in China.

Since our country has turned out to be among the fastest growing economy in the world by all means there will be quantum jump in aluminium consumption in the next 2 to 3 years Dr.Chand said.

CMD Dr.Chand also congratulated the Nalconians for their support in all fronts.

Twenty employees across NALCO were also recognized and awarded for their exemplary contribution to the great success of Navratna CPSE.
