In yet another shocking incident, a standard 10 minor girl (14) ended her life after being sexually assaulted by the headmaster of a state run residential school in Odisha’s Malkangiri district.

The girl cut her wrist leading to her death due to excess bleeding. The body of the girl was found in a pool of blood on Thursday night in the computer room of the school, the police said.
The head master of the government-run residential school at Sikhpalli was arrested following recovery of a suicide note from a notebook of the girl, Malkangiri SP Jagmohan Meena said.
Her note alleged that the headmaster was involved in sexual assault of minor girls in the school. 
The girl was rushed to Malkangiri district headquarters hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
Her family members alleged that the headmaster raped and killed her.
Meanwhile, one more minor girl of the school informed the police that she too was sexually assaulted by the headmaster, Meena said.
The police have registered two cases - one for the girl who allegedly killed herself after being raped by the headmaster and another for the one who also accused the headmaster of sexually assaulting her. 
The accused teacher has been charged under different sections including 376 (rape), 341 (wrongful restraint) of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. 
With the incident coming to the fore, different women oragisations have raised question on the safety of girls in different residential schools across the state.
