Rain Deficit Hits Blocks

At least 16 Blocks has remained severe deficit, which experienced rain Minus 39 to Minus 59 Percent.


And average rainfall of 48 Blocks is deficit between 19 Percent and 39 Precent.
Special Relief Commssioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi reviewed rainfall situation here today.
Districts like Angul, Deogarh, Nabarangpur, Sundargarh,Balangir and Nuapda have faced defecit rainfall.
Average rainfall of the state recorded on 2August 2018 for the last 24 hours is 4.1 Milimeter(MM).
Three districts have received average rainfall of above 10 MM. The districts are Jharsuguda- 19.4 MM, Sundergarh- 17.2 MM and Sambalpur- 11.0 MM.
 
Average rainfall in 19 districts remained below 10 MM whereas 8 more districts Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Puri have not received any rainfall during past 24 hours.
 
With this, the cumulative average rainfall of the State from 1 June till 2 August of 2018 comes to a surplus of 5.6 Percent over the long term average rainfall.
Five districts have received surplus rainfall of more than 19 Percent whereas 19 more districts have received normal rainfall during the period from 1June to 2 August cumulatively.
Average rainfall of remaining Six districts Deogarh, Nawarangpur, Sundergarh, Angul, Balangir and Nuapada districts has remained deficit by -19.6%,   -20.1%, -20.1%, -22.1%, -25.1% & -30.6% respectively.
Taking into account the Block-wise rainfall, 101 Blocks have received surplus rainfall of more than 19 Percent  during the period from 1June till 2 August, whereas 149 Blocks have received normal rainfall.
IMD Forecast says that there will be rainfall and thunder shower is likely to occur at many places Odisha today.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
On 3 August, Rain and Thunder Shower is likely to occur at many places over Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur and at a few places over rest districts of Odisha.
On 4 August Rain and Thunder-Shower is likely to occur at many places over Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur and at a few places over rest districts of Odisha.
