Khurda Tops On Ujjwala

Union Minister Petroleum & Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan today said that LPG penetration Khurda District is Cent Percent and the State has reached to 58.55 per cent by 1 May, 2018.

Mr.Pradhan while addressing  Pradhan Mantri LPG Panchayat" under “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan" at Mangalajodi in Tangi block, said the penetration was about 20 per cent in June 2014.
He said the Union Government has set a target of providing gas connections to 80 lakh House Hold by the end of December 2018.
Mr.Pradhan said so far a total 24.23 lakh connections have been released under Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojna.
He said that during last year 177 new LPG distributors have been added to the list which comes around 775 of total LPG distributors as on 1 May.
“An additional 225 distributors are being planned so as to make it 1000 which shows the level of LPG penetration in the state of Odisha,” the Union Minister said.
Mr.Pradhan said at present four bottling plants exist in the State after second Carousel added at Balasore Bottling Plant and starting of the second shift at Jharsuguda last year.
“Three new bottling plants are being planned to be set up in Khorda, Bolangir and Rayagada districts,” the Union Minister said.
He also said that “400 villages have been saturated with LPG connections and other benefits under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, 670 LPG Panchayats conducted on Ujjawala Diwas on April 20 and 400 LPG Panchayats held from May 3-5 under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.”
