814 CR For Shramik Kalyan

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that benefits are rendered to at least 11.52 Lakh beneficiaries under Nirman Shramika  Kalyan Yojana (NSKY) in the State and Rs.814 Crore has been spent to provide the benefits.

Mr.Patnaik while inaugurating  the International Labour Day celebration on 1May 2018 at Jayadev Bhawan said that the welfare of the labour is the top priority of the Government and Nirman Shramika Kalyan Yojana (NSKY) is the flagship scheme of the State Government.
On this occasion, Sushant Kumar Singh, Minister, Labour & ESI and Energy, Subash Singh, Chairman, Odisha Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and other senior leaders were present.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Development Commissioner, R Balkrishnan, Principal Secretary, Labour & ESI Anu Garg graced the occasion.
Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik said the State Government upholds the dignity of labour and salute the working class who are creating new Odisha by their sweat and hard work.
He said Under the scheme, NSKY at least  17 different types of welfare benefits have been given to 11.52 lakhs beneficiaries under Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. A total of Rs. 814 Crores have been spent on such benefits. Technology has been effectively used in order to ensure transparency and effectiveness to achieve this.
Seasonal migration from Western & Southern Odisha is taken very seriously and the interventions by various developmental departments are continuing to mitigate the distress migration.
A pilot project is going on in Bolangir and Nuapada districts in collaboration with TATA Trust and in convergence with other line departments. About 9000 children of migrant workers in such districts were retained in seasonal hostels to ensure their education as their parents migrated.
Thus, potential child labour has been prevented. The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Odisha advises to work for a child labour free Odisha.
On the occasion, Chief Minister mr.Patnaik felicitated four eminent Trade Union Leaders, Bidyadhar Barik, Ramesh Chandra Jena, Srinivas Rao and Jatindra Nath Ray with ‘Biju Shramika Bandhu Award’ for their remarkable contribution towards the welfare of working class.
On this occasion the following initiatives were launched, said Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, Labour Commissioner, Odisha.
SHRAMIKA SARATHI – Single Window Programme through Migrant workers support and Resource Centre was launched in Kantabanji (Bolangir), Padmapur (Bargarh) and Balugaon (Khurda). These centres will disseminate information on safe migration, counselling in case of distress and redress the grievances of migrant workers.
SHUNA SHRAMIKA – Is a community radio programme initiated by Labour & ESI Department, Government of Odisha to disseminate information and awareness about pro-labour policies and schemes of Government of Odisha. 
ONLINE BENEFIT MODULE FOR BOC WORKERS - In order to ensure hassle free facilities for registered members of OB&OCWW Board and online facilities for various benefits has been created through Lok Seva Adhikar Portal. Beneficiaries can use this facility through any of more than 7000 Citizen Service Centre (CSC) across the State. This will eliminate intermediaries.
NIRMANSHRAMIKA.COM – An exclusive website for IEC purpose for OB&OCWW Board is created. This web site will give feed to various social media for wider publicity of pro labour initiatives of the Government.
LAUNCH OF IEC MATERIAL FOR 45 DAYS CAMPAIGN AGAINST CHILD LABOUR – By this billboard designs, pictorial info kit of Acts & Rules, radio jingles and video spots are to be published. This campaign is being taken up between 30 April to 12June, 2018.
The campaign is taken up by the Department of Labour & ESI in collaboration with civil society organisations. This campaign will include rallies, sensitization workshop at district level, mock children assembly, human chain, discussion with stake holder, drive to detect child labour, radio talks show, children consultation etc.  
Annual report of Odisha Building & other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board and Shram Kalyan bulletin were released on this occasion by the Chief Minister.
