MSME Generates 13L Jobs

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said more than 3.12 lakh MSMEs have been established in the State with a cumulative investment of more than Rs 15,300 crore and employment to over 13 lakh persons.

He added that investment promotion in MSME and food processing sector remains a focus area of the government.
Speaking at the inauguration of International MSME Trade Fair 2018 and Entrepreneurship Week here today, Mr.Patnaik said altogether 356 projects worth Rs 1,796 crore have been approved by District Level Single Window Committees since April 2015.
He wished all international participants, industry associations, entrepreneurs and startups all the best for their business promotion and entrepreneurial endeavours. 

Minister MSME, Prafulla Samal said development of MSMEs and provision of a conducive eco-system for their development remains the focus of the State Government.

He added that the Government is assisting the entrepreneurs with new declared policies for MSME and food processing sectors along with credit mobilization. 
In his address, Union Secretary, MSME, Arun Kumar Panda  congratulated the State government for organizing the Odisha MSME International Trade Fair and taking steps for growth of MSMEs in Odisha. He assured to extend all cooperation for the growth of MSMEs of Odisha through cluster funding ZED, GeM and Digital Marketing. 
Additional Chief Secretary, MSME LN Gupta said these trade fair this year focuses on the food processing sector.   He said delegates from Iran, Bangladesh, Korea and Germany are participating in the fair.
Mr.Gupta informed that the trade fair has more than 350 stalls divided into six pavilions.
He said during the exhibition, as many as 70 entrepreneurs related to food processing sector, 50 to engineering, chemical and plastic sector, 30 of handicrafts and textile sector, 30 of ST / SC and 60 women entrepreneurs will put up their stalls.
The official said as many as 31 startups will showcase their innovative products at the trade fair.
The official said the seminars are likely to be addressed by Arun Panda, Secretary, MSME, Government of India, JP Meena, Secretary, Food Processing,  Sundeep Nayak, MD, NCDC, .Rajiv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, DIPP,  RP Singh, Secretary General, Quality Control of India,  NC Saha, Director, Indian Institute of Packaging amongst others. Gupta said the trade fair will have added attraction of various Odia and Continental cuisine.
