Special teams of Odisha Fire Services today conducted fire safety review of various shopping malls in the State Capital.

As many as 10 special teams of the Fire Services today reviewed the fire safety measures at 10 major shopping malls in Bhubaneswar.

Later, DG Fire Services BK Sharma said after conducting fire safety inspection at 10 shopping malls in Bhubaneswar, it was found that 8 malls were flouting fire safety guidelines.

“Notice will be served to these malls within two days”, he added.

“Incidentally, only two malls had the requisite fire safety license. The rest eight did not even have the fire safety license or the required precautionary measures in case of fire breakout,” informed Mr.Sharma.

Separate reports of each mall will be prepared and action will be taken accordingly,” he further added.
