Naveen Emulates Mamata

Of late BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik is seen emulating TMC Boss Mamata Banrjee.

It seems Mamata Strategy is better suited to fight out BJP than their earlier ones.
Reaffirming his party’s commitment towards Odisha’s Development, BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today took a cue from his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee and said the regional
party worked for "Maa, Mati and Manisha" (Mother, Motherland, and People).

"BJD works for Maa, Mati and Manisha and will continue to do so in future," Mr.Patnaik said while launching his partys Jan Sampark Padayatra (Public contact walk) at Mahishakhal here.

TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee’s "Maa Mati Manush" has become a popular political slogan in West Bengal during the 2009 general election and 2011 state assembly election.

BJD which came to the power in 2000 with a call of “Jal Jamin and Jungle” has now realized that Mamata’s slogan could help it to fight against the national party like BJP, which has its roots elsewhere and not in Odisha.

Naveen, which is fighting against the BJP said his party was a regional outfit with only agenda for the development of Odisha and nothing else.
And Naveen following footsteps of TMC Chief backed Pravat Biswal, when CBI arrested him on charges of ChitFund Scam.
Earlier, BJD Supremo was used to follow one liner “Law is to take its’ own course” and keeping him away from anybody involved in scams.
When BJD MP Rama Chandra Hansda was arrested by CBI, he immediately suspended the Tribal Leader.
Naveen repeated his action during when Cuttack Strong Man Pravat Tripathy was arrested by CBI and suspended him.
But in case of Mr.Biswal, party not only backed him but hundreds of BJD workers staged demonstration in front of CBI Office.
Now political observers find a change in strategy of BJD, to fight it out an aggressive BJP.

Mr.Patnaik said other parties will come and go. But, BJD is a local party and has no such other hidden agenda other than making Odisha as a the
number one state in the country.

Mr.Patnaik said the BJD is dedicated towards protecting the interests of the people of Odisha. The people of Odisha have blessed the BJD and will continue to do so, the chief minister said adding, serving the
people and the state was the prime objective of the regional outfit.

During the BJDs 17-year rule, Patnaik said Odisha has remarkably succeeded in reducing poverty in the state.

"The state tops the list of poverty reduction and our government has reduced poverty in the state by 25 per cent," Mr.Patnaik said.

The BJD president also claimed that his party believes in action and has worked tirelessly for the last 17 years for the development of the state.

BJD believes in action and has worked for the last 17 years for the development of the state. Our aim is to make Odisha No.1 state in the country, Mr.Patnaik said adding, the BJD will raise the issue of central neglect towards Odisha during its State Level Jan Sampark Pada Jatra which will conclude on Jay Prakash Narayan’s birth anniversary on October 11.

Without naming the BJP, Mr.Patnaik said: "Some parties are now busy in launching anti-campaign against the State Government. The people of Odisha will give them befitting reply as they have rejected them (BJP) in the past also. They are building castles in the air."

Several BJD leaders participated at the Jana Sampark Pada Jatra in different districts of the state today. Party MPs, MLAs, ministers and other leaders highlighted the achievement of the BJD Government and alleged negligence by subsequent Central Governments.
