State Mutes Modi Mantra

With the Odisha Government expressing its inability to make arrangements the students will be missing “A Life Changing Program” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier the University Grants Commission (UGC) had urged students of colleges and universities to not miss Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on September 11, terming it a “Life-Changing program”.
A similar note has been sent by the All India Council of Technical education (AICTE) to the Directors of Technical Educational Institutions.
The Prime Minister will address them to mark Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Centenary Celebrations and the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s address at Chicago World’s Parliament of Religions.
The theme of the program is ‘Young lndia, New lndia - A Resurgent Nation: from Sankalp to Sidhhi’.
The UGC has issued a circular to all universities across the country, urging them to propagate the event effectively.
“Institutions have been asked to install proper TV/ projection facility for wide viewing. The students and teachers may be encouraged to participate in the event. The program/ venue may be prominently displayed on the campus notice board,” states the circular issued by UGC.

Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra told Media that his party supports the government in this regard as such events will aggravate the already volatile situation in campuses.

BJP General Secretary Prithviraj Harichandan slammed the Government for the decision saying that the State government is only politicizing such issues without any rhyme or reason

According to BJP sources, it would be of particular importance for the youth of today to understand and absorb the content of Swami Vivekananda’s messages to the World in order to ensure their right to educational, career and spiritual growth.
