BJP State President Basant Panda today called upon the party cadres to make policies and schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed Union Government reach people in State.
Addressing Media Meet after unfurling the party flag on the 38th Foundation Day, Mr.Panda thanked the people of the state for reposing faith in it during the recently concluded rural polls.
“Our strategy is based on our welfare measures taken under the good governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We hope that our party will take the state forward towards development and we are taking revolutionary measures to achieve it,’’ he said.
The party also conducted Bhumi Pujan for upcoming two-day National Executive meeting, from 15 April at the Janata Maidan here.
Prime Minister Mr.Modi along with all the stalwarts of BJP is scheduled to attend the meeting.
Party sources said the good show during recently concluded polls is being held at all the 36,000 booths across the state, party sources said.
As part of the program, party’s offices at district, block, panchayat levels were directed to hoist flags and activists at the grassroots called upon to participate and initiate preparations for the 2019 general elections.
BJP General Secretary Bhrigu Buxipatra spoke about the importance of the Foundation Day, developmental agenda of the NDA Government under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, development at the grassroots level and creating awareness about history of the party.
General Secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said the Ministers of the Union Government will review the performance of the State Government in implementing various centrally sponsored schemes.
“It is a general process of review and not an exercise to create problems for the State Government,” Mr.Harichandan clarified.
He said since many Union Ministers will attend the meet, they will look into how effectively Central Schemes have been implemented,
Mr.Harichandan said the meet will also look into how the Central funds are being used by the State Government.
Governing BJD said it does not have any issues about any review.
BJD Spokesperson Pratap Kesari Deb said the BJP National Executive Meet is an internal affair.
‘’There is no point bringing governance issues into the matter and disturb another State Government.’’
He said the saffron leaders are trying to paint that the reviews will have no political bearing on the State Government.
